Vegetarianism

H.H. Sir Jaya Chamraja Wadiyar Bahadur : (Maharaja of Mysore and Ex-Governor of Madras) "It is now proved beyond doubt that all the protiens, carbohydrates, fats, minerals and vitamins needed for a healthy life are found in the right properties in an intelligently composed diet of vegetables, fruits, nuts and milk.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad : Ex-President of Indian Republic " I am one of those who believe that the healthiest and the most natural food for human beings is vegetables, fruits and agricultural products and that a vegetarian diet is more conductive to simple living and high thinking than a non-vegetarian diet".

Dr.S.Radhakrishnan: Ex-President of Indian Republic "I have been a great vegetarian all my life and the few years that remain will not see any change".

Sri Rajagopalchari : First Indian Governor General of Independent India. In his address to the vegetarian congress declared. "But all this apart, I wish to say on this occasion some thing else. It is most cruel and contrary to the natural genuis of India that we should follow the export of monkeys of our forests in the scale it is being done, for being tortured for the sake of advancement of the socalled knowledge. I shall not go into the details of this ugly inhumanity. The evolutionists tell us that these monkeys are near cousins of ours. Atlast, that this relationship has served as a special reason to make them to the victims of torture for the selfish interest of men instead of evoking a higher degree of kindness to these most sensitive though dumb cousins of ours. Something to the call of humanity and of the genius of our land, which much before the evolutionist's discovery had developed special sanctuary science that depends on this cruel sacrilege on sentiment life can well be given up or postponed. It is a question of foreign exchange.

It is a miserable bargain indeed of which we should be ashamed, the religious sense of our millions, if not ordinary descency to humanity requires that this blot on our civilization should be removed.

ST.Francis of ASSISSI:
One of the Greatest Christian Saints

All Creatures feel as we do
All Creatures long for happiness as we do
All the animals of this world live
Suffer and die just as we do
Therefore they are like us created by Almighty God, Our brothers.

Law Of The Nature:

Humans have duties and obligations towards animals irrespective of the rights of animals that w should extend our consideration to all the species that share the planet with us. We have chosen to be the most dominant species on the earth. Let us choose now be the most compassionate that is the most important choice of all.

Vegetarianism is a way of life, a wonderful, wiser way of life of living in harmony and friendship and onenes with all creatures of the world, where no possible harm is done to the living of others. This is a simple law of nature. It leads to health and happiness.

All the religions of the world have accepted the nobility of Ahimsa (Non-Violence). Himsa or violence is of two kinds:

1. dravya Himsa (Harming and killing Physically)
2. Bhava Himsa (Harming and killing mentally).

Even to resolve to kill Bhava Himsa. By even thinking Himsa whether others are killed or not, the soul is surely affected like a match which burns off due to friction irrespective of whether it burns others or not. When in our heart the feeling of hatred and venom towards someone is aroused we call it killing in thought.

Not to inflict pain on any body by action or thought is one side of Ahimsa, to serve others, to remove their distresses, to wipe out the tears of the afflicted is the other side of Ahimsa. We must contribute for the welfare of all the living beings. The existence of a man devoid of benevolence is condemnable. To purify life, Ahimsa is like the Ganges, after taking a dip in which, man attains the fulness of humanity. One who practices Ahimsa enmity will never stick to him. It will be difficult us to practice Ahimsa till we purify out thought and give place to a feeling of affection in our heart.
