World Cyclists Day Saturday, November 10th 2001.
Time : 8.00 a.m

Objectives of the Programme
  1. To promote Cycling awareness among Bangaloreans.
  2. To contribute towards Pollution free Commuting.
  3. To influence the Government towards creation of seperate Cycle Lanes on
    a. One Ways
    b. New Residential Layouts
    c. Shopping Zones
    d. School and College Campuses
  4. To declare one day in a week as No Automobile Day (for Private Vehicles)
  5. To cover free insurance for Cyclists by the Government
  6. To make Cycles more affordable by exempting them from Taxes and levies.
  7. To Create exclusive Cycle Parking Zones in more Areas.
  8. To demand Respect for Cyclists on Road.
  9. To make Cycling Fashionable.
  10. To bring Health Consciousness at large by Cycling.
Programme Details
  1. Cyclists assemble at YMCA, Nrupathunga Road.
  2. Flag off at 9.00 am by Mayor or a Prominent Dignitary.
  3. Starting from YMCA, through Nrupathunga Road, Hudson Circle, Kasturba Road, (MG Circle), Raj Bhavan Road, (GPO), Ambedkar Road, (Vidhana Soudha), KR Circle, Nrupathunga Road (YMCA).
  4. High Ranking Official and other dignitaries will be present in the function.
  5. High Ranking Official will declare the day Nobember 10th as 'World Cyclists Day' in India.
  6. Programme will also include recognition of people contributing to Environment and Society through Cycle.
  7. Demonstration fo Cycle sports and Fashion Show.
  8. Conclusion of the Programme with the pledging by all the participants to follow "No Automobile Day every fortnight if not every day.

Route, Time and the guests are yet to be confirmed and are only proposed.
