VALACHI USAL

INGREDIENTS

Field beans (val)
Thymol seeds
Mustard
Chilli powder
Turmeric powder
Jaggery
Coconut (grated)
A few coriander leaves
Oil for frying and salt to taste

 

1 cup
1/2 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon
a small piece
2 tablespoon


 

METHOD


1.Cook the beans, drain and keep aside.
2.Heat a little oil in a frying pan; add thymol seeds and mustard; when the mustard crackles, add cooked beans, salt , chilli powder, turmeric powder and jaggery.
3.Mix well and cook for 5 minutes; garnish with chopped coriander leaves and grated coconut.
