BLUE
POTTERY :
The
traditional colours used are blue and white. Some of the pottery are
semi-translucent. The best pieces are hand painted with floral or
arabesque patterns and sometimes with figures of animals. Besides
traditional articles like surahis, pots and cylindrical jars, other
items include ash trays, tiles, flower pots, lamp stands, |
beads,
earrings, soap dishes, jugs and mugs. Price ranges from Rs.25/-

medieval miniature paintings vividly render hills, valleys, gardens, palaces,

PAINTINGS :
The
Pichwais are cloth paintings. These Pichwais depicting Lord Krishna,
as Shrinathji in different moods with Radha and Gopis. Painted in
dark rich hues. Available on silk and synthetic silk, prices ranging

METALWARE

metalware of Rajasthan comprises of artistic brass work, enamelled,
engraved and filigree cut work on silver. Traditional silver articles
like 'handas', spice bottles, baskets and trays are popular overseas.
'Badlas' or water carriers made of zinc, white metal tea sets and
vases are also popular. Products are available in required sizes and
prices ranging from Rs.200/- onwards.

STONES
:
A large variety of figures of gods and goddesses as well as animal and
human figures are available in white marble and green soft stone. Utilities
like coasters, paper weights, pen stands, jewellery boxes and decorative
wall plates with inlay work with semi-precious stones are available with

LEATHER
WARE :
Leather
ware is available in embroidered, stiched and various eye-catching designs
and articulate boxes, lamp shades (with gold embossing), surais and sofa
backs ranging from Rs.500/- onwards.

Toys
such as elephants, horses and puppets are made of stuffed clothes
decorated with tinsel or embroidered cloth which are brilliantly coloured.

SANDALWOOD
:
Sandalwood
carving comes in a range of objects and themes ranging from tiny
camels, elephants, god figures to keychains, paper knives and trinket
boxes in a wide variety and selection. The price ranges for smaller
items from Rs.15/- onwards and for the bigger figures upto Rs.10000/-.
INLAID
WOOD :

art of inlay enhaces the natural sheen of wood by juxtaposing it with
other material. Products ranging from jewellery boxes in circular, oval
and square table tops and wooden screens are available in teak, shisham
and whitewood ranging from Rs.150/- to Rs.7500/-
SELF
ADORNMENT JEWELLERY :
Some
of the most charming handicrafts jewellery comes from Rajasthan with a
unique style. Rural women prefer chunky silver jewellery, whereas the
urban woman have a penchant for gold. Traditional adornments are timaniya,
bajerband, gajra, gokhru etc.
PRECIOUS
AND SEMI-PRECIOUS STONES :
At

also set in jewellery. Meenakari, is the art of enamelling on gold and
silver colour like blue, green and red are mostly used. Items like spoons,
