Relevance of Bhagwan Mahaveer and his teachings

Bhagwan Mahaveer realized and foresaw the form and fate of Humanity from his Perfect, Eternal and all time en compassing Anekantic (many sided) Integrated.
Knowledge, he and his teachings have become ever-relevant. Barriers of Time : Past, Present or Future cannot block relevance. In fact, seeing the plight of humanity, the suffering humanity, today, it is obviously felt that Mahaveera's teachings are much more relevant, important and applicable today. Leaving aside this entire teachings, even if we consider the few aspects mentioned here below, this will be clear.

AHIMSA : NON VIOLENCE : When the world is facing several types of day-to-day deaths, killings, murders, massacres, terrorist attacks and various types of Nuclear Bombs and Weapons and where there is no peace and rest anywhere, the only refuge and only shelter lies in Mahaveera-preached INTEGRATED NON-VIOLENCE or AHIMSA in it's totality.

ANEKANTA OR SYADAVADA APPROACH : The Generosity and adaptability of seeing and accepting ALL SIDED TRUTH and POINTS OF VIEWS, respecting others' ideologies and finding synthesis is very much useful in today's chaotic and disintegrated one-sided thought for bringing harmony and Peace. Mahaveera's unique and wonderful principle of ANELKANTVAD or SYADAVADA provides such a broad, truth-finding outlook and enables the individual as well as the society to rise above narrow ideologies and outlook. This Principle is worth studying and applying.

APARIGRAHA : Limited accumulations for one's bare-minimum needs and requirements. All of rest to be given away to the Society and humanity with Joy and Humility is the secret of Mahaveera's teachings which he himself followed by giving everything in Charity to the HAVE NOTS.

MAHAVEERA'S MAGNIFICENT SAYINGS
RELIGION THE ONLY SHELTER :Religion is the only Island, only REPUTSHELTER, only Go & Motion and only REFUGE for the souls flowing, in the speedy flow of old age and death.

RELIGIOUS PERSON'S DAYS ARE FORTUNATE :The days and nights which ship into the past will never never return. The days and nights become meaningful and successful only for that person who follows Religion.

ARISE, AWAKE & ACT NOW : One should adopt religious acts at once, till old age does not harass, till diseases do not increase, till senses do not become weak and disable, since nothing will be possible to be accomplished afterwards !

NON-KILLING THROUGHOUT : Neither Kill yourself nor kill any of the moving and stable creatures what-so-ever of the whole universe through others.

LIVE & LET LIVE : All souls wish to live, none want to die, hence totally give up any sort of killing.

NON-VIOLENCE THE SUPREME SCIENCE : Not to kill any creature is the essence of being a learned man, a 'JNANI'. This science is the only science that is the "PRINCIPLE OF NON-VIOLENCE (AHIMSA) is the SUPREME MOST."

NO PUNISHMENT TO ANYONE : Give not Punishment mentally, verbally or physically in anyway to any of the moving and stable creatures of the Universe.Back to Home Page
