THE STORY OF BHAKTAMAR STOTRA & 48  BHAKTAMAR STOTRAS

Birth of a Tirthankara (Bhagwan Mahaveer was the 24^th in the present Circle of Time) brings welfare, peace, prosperity, happiness and harmony to not only human beings, but to the entire Universe and also the Cosmic beings. This is because of his infinite powers and his longing to provide all these to each and every peace and happiness-craving being.

How does this happen ?
The Infinite Powers vested in a Tirthankara are the accumulated results of his virtuous deeds, AUSPICIOUS KARMAS, of several of his previous births. Through the striving and contemplations and Meditations of these chain series of Births ultimately resulted in his acquirement of the perfect knowledge, KEVAL JNANA, and Infinite Powers to the suffering beings of the Universe.
Thus the birth of a Tirthankara is called a KALYANAKA, which provides upliftment, welfare, happiness to all. Today, it is about 2595th JANMA KALYANAKA of Bhagwan Mahaveer, who was born in 598 B.C. at Kshatriyakuridagram, Vaishali, Bihar, India.
Due to the above-referred Previous Birth's accumulated Contemplations and seeking, as Mahaveer was also born from his very birth with the possession of three kinds of faculties of KNOWLEDGE, called Mati Jnana, Shruti Jnana and Aradhi Jnana. Because of these inborn knowledge-possession, he was very intellectual right from his childhood.
Similarly, he was extraordinarily BRAVE and FEARLESS from his early life. Episodes of Ferocious Cobras and Mad Elephant's controlled by him are a few examples.
As a prince he remained in his kingly Palace until the passing away of his parents, who he respected and served beyond an average person to set an example of parent worship, thereafter he respected his elder brother's wishes and then renounced the world by distributing and donating everything EXCEPT A PIECE OF LOIN CLOTH to the have nots and went alone in the Forests in Seclusion and Meditation. After 12'/2 years of rigorous seeking he acquired KEVAL JNANA at the age of 42 and thereafter for 30 years he went on preaching his TRUTHS. He attained NIRVANA at 72 at PAVAPURI, BIHAR, leaving behind an organised eternal religious order.

Human beings and all animals and creatures wish to live, none wish to die. Let us not kill animals for their flesh or skin. Nature has provided us with abundant vegetarian food. All types of animals on the surface of this earth have the right to live.
