It is Bangalore's largest & on the 19th of October it turns one year old. The music mega store, Millennium Music (a part of the LMW group) above pizza corner on Brigade Road, recently concluded it's 2nd week, long anniversary hungama, with a birthday bash. The erstwhile 'fast forward' has come a long way in terms of the quality of services it tries to provide to its customers. Millennium Music boosts of the largest collection of music under one roof. Any music that you didn't find anywhere else, you would definitely find it in Millennium Music.

Millennium Music values its customers the most & has always strived in value addition for their customers. As a part of this commitment was started the MTV Style clothing corner & the IBIZA lucky draw. A lucky draw for the shoppers at Millennium Music. Finally the lucky customer was Mr. Dev Anand who won a free ticket to Ibiza & Mr. Nagaraj who won a free ticket to Singapore.

Millennium Music has for the past 5 months been organizing the "GEET GAO STAR BAN JAAO" voice contest. Over 1000 contestants have taken part so far. Every week 3 winners were selected who got prizes from Sony Music & Milestone. The outstanding winner went into the semi-finals. Thus 14th October the day of the semifinals saw 21 semifinalists compete. They could sing any song of their choice, this was judged by noted music director of the Kanada industry Mr. V.Manohar. out of the 21 semi finalists, 8 went into the finals. The date October 15th, venue Millennium Music. Each of these 8 finalists was put through 3 grueling rounds. They had to sing a song of their choice in film & flok categories. The judge was Mr. V. Manohar once again. The pressure was mounting as at stake was recording one's own album with some of the biggest names in the music industry courtesy Millennium Music. Days of perspiration & in 5 minutes their lives could change for ever.

The suspense how ever did not end that day. The winners were to be announced at Millennium Music birthday bash on the 19th. That meant three more days of keeping fingers crossed & waiting.

D-Day arrived & to make the bash even more entertaining, Millennium Music had associated with apnabangalore.com. Apnabangalore.com conceived jointly by Rajesh Kumar and Kavesh Gupta. The crowing of this competition was been hosting the 1st ever vet based beauty pageant - titled "Miss Cyberia" a part of the celebration hungama at the store. It was planned to make this competition as different as possible. It started out with 16 entries coming in for the competition. This was screened to 4 finalists on the basis of their pictures & the answers given by them. The 4 finalists - Sargam Gupta, Arabella, Milly & Meryl were put through the grinds of the photo shoot. Here both Kavesh Gupta & Rajesh Kumar CEO Apnabangalore.com wanted to do something different. We had a photo shoot of the finalists at a resort, also they spent an entire day with 10 orphaned children. Whose parents are either dead or they were left by their parents in a dustbin or at the railway station. These children only want some love and attention. We had out 4 finalists spend an entire day with them, play games, have lunch with them, listen to them, draw etc. The subtitles besides Miss Personality, Miss Photogenic & Figure was Miss Compassion - thought of for the 1st time totally based on the one day that they spend with these children.

The results of photo shoot i.e. the contestants in swimsuits & with these children were put on apnabangalore.com along with the answers to questions asked to them. People were invited to log on & vote for the model of their choice. This was the primary basis of choosing the winner. The other criteria was the judges decision during the final show.

Thus on D-Day all the battle lines were drawn. The evening on the 19th at Millennium Music began with an invocation, which was composed by V.Manohar. It had the 8 finalists singing individually in different languages. Shortly after which the Miss Cyberia finals began. The judges for the finals were Mr.Sai from Sony Music's, Mr.Venkatesh from Deena enterprises, Mr. David a very well known personality on the fashion scenario in Mumbai, he is also the person who had played the devil in the Onida TV ad, Mr. Ejaz Hussain professor IIM Bangalore & finally Mr. Waseem Khan - Ace photographer.

The 1st round was an introduction round, where each participant got 2 minutes to introduce themselves & talk about their ambitions in life. Before round 2 we had a four feet birthday cake cut as a part of the Birthday bas celebrations.

Round 2 had the girls talk about their experiences with the orphaned children & if given an opportunity what they would like to do for them.

Round 3 was the question & answer round where each finalist was asked a question & judged on the basis of their answers. To one question "if given a chance to take some body under your blanket, just about any body who would be & why?" Sargam Gupta one of the finalists shot back - a child, probably an orphan, who really requires love & attention. As I believe every child need that tender touch of a mother & in every woman there is a mother.

After Round 3, while the scores were being tallied. It was decided to end the anxiety of the voice contest finalists as who were the winners. On the top came out 18 year old Akshata Ramnath & Jim Paul a management singer & a wannabe professional singer. They get to audition with some of the biggest names in the music industry & could well be on their way to recording their own private album. They also get gifts from Jole Clothing, Taj Residency, Talwalkers Gym & lots of music.

After this the final moment arrived, suspense in the air. And the winner of the 1st ever-net based competition was Sargam Gupta. A 20 year old profession model who aspires to become a TV actress some day. The subtitles Ms. Photogenic & Figure went to Arabella, who is the daughter of the top hair stylist Keith & Ms. Personality went to Milly - an aspiring fashion designer staying in Bangalore from Shillong. The gifts were sponsored by Rajasthan Emporium & Handicrafts, Orange County, Time Zone, Kiran's Soap Center, Vitraj Jewels & Jole Clothing. The designer wear are supplied by Sarita Nirmal Mandoth the noted fashion designers of Bangalore.

Also Rajesh Kumar - Apnabangalore have planned to make Miss. Cyberia an annual even including Mr.Cyberia into it. Entries for the next years competition will be invited shortly. The entire event was produced by UNIT 1 PRODUCTIONS (P) LTD.
