Saree is one of the most beautiful garment worn by the Indian ladies. It is like a worthy possession for the women of India. A dream of a lady is to possess as many as beautiful sarees she can. It has a long history behind it starting from the old Indian epics. Saree is a traditional dress of the Indian ladies from ages together. The possession of a saree will never be a waste. The cloth is convertible to any fancy wear like maxis and frocks. The longest saree was woven in India by ........... She entered the guiness book of records for her feat. It was displayed in Kemp Fort . The cost of a saree ranges from Rs.100 to lakhs of rupees. Generally the sarees worn are 6.25 metres long and 4 feet in width. They come in variety of colours and designs. There are many types of sarees too like cotton, silk, polyester etc. The goddesses that are depicted in Hindu religion are all draped in sarees. The beauty of the saree is enriched by proper knowledge of how to wear it.


Let me explain you the art of wearing a saree:
 

    1. Hold inner end of a saree with your left hand.

    2. Making sure the saree is at floor level, tuck the top border of inner end into the petticoat.

    3. Then pass the saree around to the front maintaining the same height.

    4. Keep the top edge level, tuck in a little to keep the saree firm.

    5. Start folding the fleets from the right, holding taut the edge of the saree.

    6. Hold the pleats together and adjust the height so that the bottom edge is at floor level.

    7. Tuck in the pleats into the petticoat. The pleats should fall straight.

    8. Bring around the saree.

    9,10,11. Hold it in your right and pass on to your left arranging the border evenly

    12. Drape on your left shoulder allowing the end piece to fall casually.
